"Use water only for drinking, cooking and essential washing."
The City of Cape Town recommended earlier this week the Level 4 water restrictions be implemented. Should Council approve the restrictions, it will be in effect from June 1.
Level 4 water restrictions would ban all use of municipal water for outside and non-essential use and limit residents to 100 litres of water per person a day.
This means that no car washing, watering of gardens, irrigation with municipal drinking water at all, and no new golf courses or sports fields to be built unless they will be watered with non-portable water.
